Honor a Loved One or a Special Occasion

Planting a tree or putting a bench in one of Northglenn's parks or open spaces is a wonderful way to honor a loved one or mark a special occasion.  It also provides a gift to the entire community that will last generations as a place to sit and enjoy one of our many parks or trails; or to enjoy the shade and beauty under on a summer day.  It is a wonderful way to commemorate special events such as birthdays, graduations, and weddings.  They can also be used to recognize the dedication and service of a volunteer or community member as well as a memorial to a loved one.  Trees and benches purchased through this program are planted and cared for by the parks department and may be placed in our parks, playgrounds, and trails.  A special site for the trees and benches will be determined by the donor in conjuction with the city staff.

Tree Program
A donation of $300 covers the cost of the tree, an engraved brass placque, the planting and care of the tree with a re-planting guarantee.  The engraved placque with three lines of inscription is attached to a perpetual placque outside of City Council Chambers, inside City Hall.  There is a wide selection of trees and locations to choose from to ensure that this is a lasting rememberance.

Bench Program
A donation of $650 includes the cost of the bench and a commemorative engraved plate along with installation and care of the bench.  Benches are dark green and are installed in concrete along our walking trails or in our parks and open spaces.  The commemorative plate is riveted on the top or front of the bench.
